Deserts of Kharak
It’s no secret we’re big fans of both sci fi art and Homeworld here at Fists of Heaven. Homeworld has always had incredibly artistic cutscenes, but cutscenes of Deserts of Kharak were incredibly striking. Deserts marks the first time that a Homeworld title has featured full color cutscenes, and the animatic style was also unique in the series due to the setting. Heat shimmers, wind, and sand motion are all used to creating a visual and emotional experience that’s just incredible. Amazing job Brennan, Rob, Cody, and everyone else on the Blackbird art team!
Because I enjoyed the cutscenes so much, I wanted to see them in those rare moments when I have time to minimize my browser and actually see my desktop. I asked our resident artist, Julian Schlottmann, to take my screenshots and make a few tweaks to make them wallpaper-friendly. He’s done so, and I’ve finally had time to get them online. Below are 8 wallpapers in 1920×1080 (just click for full size) and the 3k resolution versions are being sent out in our next newsletter (if you’re not already subscribed, you’ll automatically get a download link after you subscribe).
